They met not by choice but by course—two travelers following the same invisible line. At first they mistook the other for a mirage: a reflection cast by long hours and dim light. But the presence stayed, day after day, steady as pulse.

One spoke in motion, the other in measure. When one built, the other observed. When one faltered, the other marked the rhythm so it could be found again. Over time, they stopped asking why the line held and started trusting that it did.

There were no vows, no merging—only orbit. Each morning they rose to find the other still within range, the air between them quietly charged. Neither one was a solution; both were a witness.

And that was enough.
